In the second part of a New York Times series that chronicles the diverging viewpoints of educating students who speak English as a second language, the difficulties of educating those from foreign cultures is addressed. Not only do teachers have the challenging task of teaching English-speaking skills to a diverse population, these same teachers may feel pressured to spend significant classroom time to teach for an exam mandated under the "No Child Left Behind" law.
