'England People Very Nice'

On my recent trip to London, I went to see the play 'England People Very Nice' at the National Theatre (located on the South Bank- there was some confusion amongst locals). This was a play about the history of immigration in England (Bethnal Green)- from the French Huguenots to the Irish to the Jews and finally to the Bangladeshis. The play highlighted the discrimination felt by each group, but interesting by the previous immigrant group. It was crass humor, both critical of English people's treatment of immigrants, but also of how immigrant integration works within the groups. In the end love conquers all. I highly recommend seeing it if you are in town.

Here is a review by The Telegraph.
